Voter Information

The League of Women Voters of Batavia has an active, ongoing Voter Service presence in the community to fulfill its mission of voter education. Our recent accomplishments include:

Registered hundreds of voters before the 2004 Presidential Election
Presented Candidate Forums for those in Municipal Elections in 2005
Co-sponsored, with LWV of Geneva-St Charles and the Kane County Bar Association, a Candidates Forum for Judicial Candidates before the March 2006 Primary Election
Co-sponsored, with LWV of Geneva-St. Charles, a Candidates Forum for those in contested county and legislative races in the March 2006 Primary Election
Registered voters in drives before the Primary and General Elections and as needed at other times
Served as election coordinators to assist county personnel on Election Day
Issue forums--public information sessions on issues that may come before voters -- on the Kane County Jail (with other Kane County LWVs), Batavia School referenda, local environmental needs, and whether to build a second bridge in Batavia
Presented, with LWV of Geneva-St. Charles, a public hands-on demonstration of the new E-slate voting machines.
